Hollywood legend James Earl Jones, Star Wars and The Lion King actor, dies aged 93
James Earl Jones is being remembered as one of the most iconic voice actors of all time.
Legendary actor James Earl Jones has died aged 93. The actor passed away at his home in Dutchess County, New York.
Jones' representatives at Independent Artist Group confirmed the news to Deadline.
The Hollywood icon was perhaps most famous for his voice role as Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise and Mufasa in The Lion King, as well as his appearances in films such as Coming to America, Conan the Barbarian, Field of Dreams and The Hunt for Red October. He also appeared on The Simpsons three times.

Jones is one of the few entertainers to have won an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony). His Oscar was an honorary one, awarded in the 2012 ceremony, though the star was nominated in 1971 for his role in The Great White Hope.
The actor amassed nearly 200 screen credits during his 60-year career, with some of his earliest roles in Stanley Kubrick’s 1964 classic Dr. Strangelove.
Tributes flow for James Earl Jones
Fans have taken to X to share tributes for the actor, with one user writing, "Rest in peace, James Earl Jones. One of the most powerful, evocative, emotional voices in cinema history."
They added the famous scene where Mufasa speaks to Simba from the stars in The Lion King, adding, "This is the first scene that came to mind, it’s one of my favourites of all time."
