Heather Locklear is opening up about her favorite memories from filming the sitcom Spin City — and sharing what was different about working with Michael J. Fox versus his replacement in the series, Charlie Sheen.

Speaking during a panel at '90s Con in Daytona Beach, Fla. earlier this year, the actress, 63, opened up about the production of the ABC sitcom, which aired from 1996 to 2003. Spin City followed the story of fictional New York City Mayor Randall Winston (Barry Bostwick) and his deputy mayor Mike Flaherty, (originally played by Fox). Locklear starred as Caitlin, a campaign manager for the mayor.

"I did Spin City with two different costars, Michael J. Fox and Charlie Sheen," Locklear said during the panel, recalling how Fox departed the series at the end of the fourth season in 2000 because of his Parkinson's diagnosis. Sheen replaced him as a new character, Charlie Crawford, before the show was canceled in May 2002 after six seasons.

"They're brilliant," she added of both actors. "They know how … one is fast talking and the other is slow."

"But Charlie Sheen: I like him so much. We did this movie together, Money Talks, he goes, 'Make sure she doesn't touch my face when we kiss,'" she revealed, referring to the 1997 action-comedy also starring Chris Tucker. "'We're going to do an old-fashioned kiss, right? I'm not using my tongue!' And he just didn't want touching."

Locklear added that because of the difference in their acting styles, she had to adjust how she played off her Spin City costars accordingly.

"The timing [difference] between Michael and Charlie I had to get used to. Michael is a fast guy, Charlie is mmmhmmm," she continued.

"So [the challenge] was really having to get my timing better. They get to be who they are and I'd get to be … not who I am."

Elsewhere during her appearance at '90s Con (which marked her first public event in nearly three years), the actress spoke about her time on the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff series Melrose Place — and reflected on her time with the cast as well as her iconic costumes from the show, revealing that she kept "everything."

"Is that wrong?" Locklear said with a laugh, adding that she kept much of her Spin City wardrobe, too. "But [I took] everything, from shoes to the old jackets, the skirts."

Locklear also revealed that she began passing along some of the items in her closet to her daughter Ava Sambora, 26, who she shared with her ex-husband, Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora.

"We're the same size in shoes," said Locklear, "so I'd force some stuff on her."

Speaking about the success of the series, the actress added that she wished she and the rest of the cast had "appreciated it more at the time."

"I didn't stop to smell the roses, I just kept working, working, working — we all did," she said during a Q&A. "Now I can see how much fun we had. I look back and go, 'That was pretty great.' "
