Heartwarming story behind sandwich melts hearts: 'Love this'
A woman’s Facebook post has gone viral after she explained the heartwarming reason why she takes a bite out of her husband’s sandwich every day.
The woman took to the social media account to upload a snap of the sandwich, which can be seen in an airtight bag with a small bite taken out of it on one side.
In the caption, she explained that she and her husband have been married for nearly 41 years and she has made his lunch every day he’s worked since then.
“On occasion I would join him on the job site and have lunch with him. He made the comment once that lunch tasted better when you share it with someone you love,” she wrote.
She then came up with a genius way of making her husband’s work day even more special, writing: “Soon after that, while fixing his sandwich one night, I took a bite out of it before putting it away.
“When he got home (long before cell phones) he commented that someone took a bite out of his sandwich. I told him that since I couldn’t join him for lunch, I took a bite so he knew I was joining him.”

The woman said she now does this frequently, unless she’s made him tuna sandwiches or pimento cheese and he still says, “saw you joined me for lunch today and it sure was good”.
Needless to say, this is the kind of content everybody needs in 2020, with over 14,000 people liking her post since it was uploaded earlier this week.
“This is the sweetest thing,” one person commented.
Another person said: “That is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard,” while another said “I love this, so cute”.
One woman says she does that to her kids lunch every now and then while others said they might start doing it themselves.
Others commented commending the couple on still having such a strong marriage after 41 years, with a friend of the couple’s saying she grew up with them as her ‘role model marriage’.
