Meghan and Harry set to break royal Christmas tradition
Meghan and Harry may just be ditching the royal British Christmas for an all-American affair.
The couple could see out the conclusion of what has been a tumultuous year, at home with Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland, making Archie’s first Christmas an American one, Hello! Magazine reports.
They are set to take a well earned six-week break from royal life, with the magazine reporting the US portion of their holiday may extend over the silly season and into the New Year.
The classic dilemma of choosing between the in-laws over the holidays comes with an extra edge for Harry and Meghan, given that the royals traditionally attend the Christmas church service as a family.
Last year saw the Sussexes arrive arm in arm with William and Kate, and their potential absence this year would definitely not fly under the radar.
The royal clan always turns out for the day, from those in direct line to the throne, to cousins like Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
The family can usually be spotted walking into the Sandringham chapel on the morning of the 25th, providing an opportunity to meet the beloved royals that locals take very seriously.
First (and last Christmas) as a trio?
The rumours surrounding Harry and Meghan’s appearance also come amid speculation that while this will be the couple’s first Christmas as a family of three, it may also be their last.
Certain fans have become convinced that the Duchess may be expecting the second of the two children she and Harry are planning on having, based solely on the fact that Meghan was seen momentarily holding her hand over her stomach at the weekend.
She was at the Festival of Remembrance alongside the rest of the royal family at the time, and while the seconds-long movement could be completely innocent or simply a force of habit, it didn’t take long for some royal watchers to jump to the conclusion that another baby may be on the horizon.
