Harry and Meghan mocked for speaking out about Ukraine: 'What a joke!'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been mocked on social media after releasing a statement saying they "stand with the people of Ukraine" and condemned Vladimir Putin's invasion.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrote on their Archewell website: "Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and all of us at Archewell stand with the people of Ukraine against this breach of international and humanitarian law and encourage the global community and its leaders to do the same."

Following the short statement, Twitter users took to the site to slam the couple, joking that Putin must be "shaking in his boots".

"Phew, that's that sorted then," one user wrote. "Putin will immediately recall the military and send them back to their garrisons. Thanks for that Harry and Meg, you saved us all. We owe you one!"

However, others supported the pair with one user writing, "Good for them, Harry and Meghan are absolutely right to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine."

"Why shouldn't Harry and Meghan make a stand on Ukraine? They are as entitled to say something about the situation there as anyone else," another wrote.

Many others pointed out the fact that the rest of the royal family have remained silent on the matter as it's 'too political for the royals', whereas Harry and Meghan have at least spoken about it and shared their support.
