Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren Prepare to 'Fight' as Their Ranch Is 'Under Attack' in “1923 ”Season 2 Teaser Trailer
The long-awaited second installment of the 'Yellowstone' prequel series premieres Feb. 23
The fate of the Dutton family ranch is at risk in season 2 of 1923.
In the first teaser trailer for the long-awaited return of the Yellowstone prequel series, the family needs Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar), and he's doing his best to get home to Montana.
As the trailer begins, Spencer says, "In Montana, there's a war over my family's land. And they're losing it," as a worried Cara (Helen Mirren) and Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) fight to protect the ranch.
"I know what to do," Spencer says. "I'm coming home."
In Montana, Jacob tells his wife that their ranch "is under attack," which really means, "Our whole way of life is under attack." He seems to set out to bring Spencer, who has been journeying to get return to the ranch since season 1, back, and Cara tells him, "Bring him home."
As Jacob sets out, leaving Cara to hold down the ranch, wealthy mining tycoon Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) continues to pursue all the land he can in Paradise Valley — and he's ramping things up even further, as he tells Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn) that "it's time to build an army."
Donald was a threat to the Dutton family's land in season 1, but it seems like he's ramping up his efforts even more in season 2.
"I've never met a man who scares me," Banner says of Donald. "He scares me to death."

Jacob is not giving in, though, despite the pressures, as he tells someone, "I think this is about as far as I feel like being pushed."
As the teaser trailer ends, Cara warns her husband that the ranch "will drive you to your death," but Jacob seems unwary of what lies ahead.
"We all sacrificed a lot," he says. "But this fight ain't over."
In season 2, "a cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business" to the Dutton ranch, per the official synopsis, as " harsh conditions and adversaries" threaten to "end the Dutton legacy."
Spencer begins his "arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana," while "Alexandra sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love."

Skelnar, 34, told PEOPLE that filming season 2 was "the most fun I've had as an actor in my life," as he teased, "I cannot wait for people to see it. I know they'll love it."
"Knowing where the show was going and being excited to shoot those pages, and really just being excited to shoot this entire season, was such a great feeling for me," he continued. "Knowing that I was going to get to do what the little kid in me, the actor in me — I was over the moon."
Getting to work with Ford, 82, and Mirren, 79, again was an added bonus, too.
"To see people at their level and to be able to maintain such a deep level of humility and humanity and kindness is something that I'll take with me forever because they are both just really special human beings and I think that that's reflective in their work and how they're revered by audiences and have been revered for so many years," he said.
