Grant Denyer 'pelted eggs' at wife Chezzi while on painkillers
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Grant Denyer opened up about a moment he's not proud of, involving his wife Chezzi, during Monday night's episode of the show.
The presenter shared how when he broke his back in 2008 after an accident at a monster truck promotional event, he became addicted to pain medication, which lead him down a scary path.
"Mate, I pelted eggs at her [Chezzi] one night," he told Abbie Chatfield, Alli Simpson and Toni Pearen. "I cracked it for some reason. I was hungry and was in pain and was confused and I just started throwing eggs at her."
"She doesn't deserve this, but you just can't stop."
Grant has previously opened up about his addiction to painkillers in the podcast he hosts with Chezzi, It's All True.

He spoke of how he became addicted while recovering from the accident and the way it changed him.
"Holy hell, do you remember all the mad sh*t that went on?" Grant said to Chezzi. "The moment you close your eyes, you can’t tell the difference between reality and your dreams. As soon as you close your eyes, you go into your worst nightmares.
"The things that you’re afraid of the most are the first things that happen the moment you fall asleep and you start dreaming."
The host spoke of one incident where he thought Chezzi was being attacked by people who had broken into their home.
"I remember waking up thinking there was a home invasion and I thought that Chezzi was being attacked, being raped in the apartment.
"I’m trying to find these guys who are attacking you and raping you. I’m like, ‘Where are they? I know they’re here! Where are they?’"
The pair agreed that the medication Grant was put on was "the worst part of the injury by far".
Chezzi shared her own story, saying, "We had so many drug psychosis episodes where Grant would kick me out of the house because he would say I was an impostor dressed up as Chezzi."
"He’d be like, ‘I don’t believe you. Get out of the house!’ I’d get locked out of the house and I’d be a crying mess."
In another incident, Grant left his Sydney CBD apartment in underwear to buy scotch.
"He said, ‘I want some scotch, you f***ing b**ch,'" Chezzi said. "I was like, ‘I beg your pardon?’ He said, ‘Listen, you f***ing b**ch, I am going to get some scotch. Where’s my ginger ale?’"
"He came out and said, ‘Well if you’re not going to get it for me, fine, f**k you,’ and he grabbed the keys and walked straight out the door."
Grant told the listeners he was experiencing withdrawals and would never normally talk to her like that.
"I just wasn’t in a place where I could understand my own actions or behaviours," he said.
Chezzi searched the streets for Grant for three hours before finding him in the fire escape of their building.
"It broke my heart," she said.
The pair stressed how dangerous medication can be and Grant apologised, "I’m sorry for everything I put you through in that period."
