Fresh off missing out on the win on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here by one, Grant Denyer is likely to be disappointed in the news another of his shows has been axed.
Having already lost hosting duties on Dancing with the Stars in 2020, Channel Ten has now decided to drop Grant Denyer’s Celebrity Name Game, TV Tonight has reported.
Celebrity Name Game saw teams of two trying to guess the names of singers, actors and popular personalities with the help of a celebrity guest.
Fans shared their shock at the news on social media, with Grant receiving plenty of support.
“What a shame for Grant Denyer. I feel he is better suited to a panel / talk show away from the strictness of hosting reality tv. I hope something comes up for him with longevity like his time on Sunrise and Family Feud. Fingers crossed for him!” one person said.
“Just needs the right show,” another agreed.
“I feel for him,” was a third comment.
Channel Ten changes 2021 line-up
Other shows that didn’t make the cut for 2021 include the AFL-themed WAG drama Playing for Keeps.
The show last aired in 2019, with Head of Programming Daniel Monoghan telling TV Tonight that it was “not coming back” after just two seasons.
Judge Judy-style courtroom reality show Trial by Kyle also won’t be returning.
Though that decision was my by KIIS FM’s Kyle Sandilands, who fronts the show.
“He hates it. He talks about it on the radio. It’s not coming back. Just ask him! I really liked it and I like Kyle, but it’s not returning,” Daniel Monoghan revealed.
One Born Every Minute Australia has also been axed.
