Gogglebox star Isabelle Silbery debuts new man amid cancer battle

Australia fell in love with her on Gogglebox and now Isabelle Silbery - who appears on the hit TV show alongside her mother and grandmother - appears to have found love herself.

The single mum debuted her “beautiful” new man, Luke Gordon, on Instagram on Tuesday, eight months after going public with her shock cancer diagnosis.

The Gogglebox stalwart - she’s been on the show since season three - took to Instagram to share a loved up snap of herself wrapped in her new beau’s arms while on a sunny vacay in Port Douglas.

“Questioning your worth, taking a risk and letting someone into your heart as a single mum is NOT easy, let alone sharing that decision with other people!! But I feel ready to do both of those things now,” she began in the caption.

“I’m officially stepping off the single escalator with this beautiful man who over the past four months has shown me how I can be truly loved,” she continued.

And it looks like Isabelle’s co-star Yvie Jones - who left the show to pursue other TV and radio options in Melbourne - was involved in setting the two up!

“Thankful to @yvie_jones for introducing me to this incredible specimen and not letting him apply for The Bachelorette!” she wrote.

Isabelle didn’t share that much more about Luke, aside from the fact that he’s “super sexy” and “[brings] sport to people living with intellectual disabilities.”

“I honestly couldn’t be happier,” she signed off the post.

Isabelle’s cancer battle

Back in January this year, Isabelle shared a selfie from her hospital bed, where she was recovering after having several cancerous polyps removed from her bowel.

In the Instagram post, she revealed that she’d undergone her first operation a few months earlier and that she’s “annoyed that my body is growing the C word”.

“Eight months ago I was really sick in NY on a girls trip & put it down to gastro but in my gut (pardon pun). I knew something was up & chose not to ignore the symptoms,” she told her followers.

“Turns out, I needed to have two high-grade cancer polyps cut out of my bowel a few months ago…the doc said that if left any longer, it wouldn’t have been good.”

In July, Isabelle posted another update, writing, “Over the last few weeks, I’ve been recovering from key hole surgery to remove some cysts (All good).”

Along with providing hilariously entertaining commentary on the country’s favourite TV programs, Isabelle is a writer and mum to her little boy, Luca, who turns five on August 25.

Gogglebox season 10 premieres 8.30 Thursday, August 14 on Channel 10.
