“Good Omens” to end with final super-sized episode after Neil Gaiman allegations
Here's where the author's other projects, like "The Sandman" and "The Graveyard Book," currently stand.
Good Omens will end sooner than expected. In lieu of a full final season, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that season 3 of the Amazon Prime Video fantasy series will consist of a single, 90-minute finale episode, and that creator Neil Gaiman contributed writing to the finale but will not be involved in the production following sexual assault allegations earlier this year.
The series is adapted from the novel of the same name co-written by Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett in 1990. Representatives for Gaiman and his production company, The Blank Corporation, did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

Back in July, the U.K.-based media organization Tortoise released a podcast miniseries called Master in which two women accused Gaiman of sexual assault over the years. One of the pseudonymous accusers claimed he initiated unwanted sex acts on her while she was working for his family as a nanny in New Zealand in 2022, while the other alleged he penetrated her without consent in 2003. Gaiman told the podcast that the sexual encounters were consensual and denied unlawful behavior. In August, three other women accused Gaiman of sexual misconduct through subsequent episodes of Tortoise's Master podcast. He denies any wrongdoing.
In addition to Good Omens, here's where the various TV and film projects based on Gaiman's work stand in the wake of these allegations.
The Graveyard Book
Gaiman's children's book The Graveyard Book, which contains a similar narrative to The Jungle Book but is set in a cemetery instead of a jungle, has been in development for years. No cast has been attached. Deadline reported in September that the project has been put on pause, though "there were a number of factors" behind that decision and the allegations against Gaiman are "only one of them." Back in 2022, Gaiman posted on Tumblr that he had "no control or say" in the film. Disney has not commented publicly on the reports.
The Sandman
Gaiman's beloved dark fantasy comic series The Sandman was in development for a long time, but the TV adaptation finally made it to Netflix in 2022. Filming of season 2 was paused in 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike but resumed afterwards. No release date has been announced.
Dead Boy Detectives
Based on characters co-created by Gaiman for the original The Sandman comic, Dead Boy Detectives was a supernatural mystery show that also featured some crossover with characters from The Sandman TV series. Season 1 premiered April 25 on Netflix, and the show was not picked up for season 2.
Anansi Boys
American Gods was Gaiman's first novel to be adapted for TV, running three seasons on Starz from 2017-2021. The follow-up novel, Anansi Boys, which centers around the sons of the titular African trickster spirit, has been in development by Amazon Prime Video. Gaiman wrote two episodes of the series. In 2022, he confirmed on Twitter that the show (which stars Delroy Lindo and Malachi Kirby among others) had filmed and was in post-production, but Prime Video has never announced a release date.
