'Decided not to tell anyone'

Di was a fan-favourite, with people loving her ‘sassy wit’ and ‘honest’ commentary, particularly on dating shows.

The couple met when Mick was 20 and Di was 17, and were open about how they didn't love Married At First Sight and The Bachelor, which made for fantastic TV.

Their Gogglebox bio shows that the couple had a rich history, reading: "Di, a former model, convinced Mick to give up his high-flying career as an advertising executive in order to follow their passion for art. They opened their own art gallery and dealership and 30-years later, the business is still going strong."

According to the Daily Mail, a friend of the couple said Di decided to keep her illness secret, and prioritised spending time with her family.

“She didn’t feel well a few months ago and [Mick] took her to the doctor. After many tests and specialists, they discovered a tumour in her throat that was inoperable,” the publication reported.

“That was when she decided not to tell anyone and just spend quality time with the family.”
