Glenn Close Says She Hasn't Sought a Relationship in 10 Years Since Last Divorce: 'I'm Very Happy Right Now'
Glenn Close has been married three times; she most recently divorced tech entrepreneur David Shaw in 2015, after nine years of marriage
Glenn Close is happy living the single life.
While Close, 77, promoted her new Netflix movie Back in Action on the Monday, Jan. 13 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, she told Drew Barrymore that she feels happy without a romantic relationship in her life, more than nine years after she divorced ex-husband David Shaw.
"Have you approached a relationship since divorce?" Barrymore asked. When Close quickly answered "no," Barrymore — who split from her own ex-husband Will Kopelman in 2016 said, "Me neither."
"I don't know. I mean, I'm always up for anything, but I'm very happy right now," Close said; when Barrymore asked if Close has ever tried using dating apps, the Emmy-winning actress said, "Are you crazy?"
"No, I'm too shy to do that," she added, as Barrymore said she thought using apps "was so much fun and the search is different." "I'm not searching. Because I'm actually — I'm not a hugely comfortably social person, so I don't leap to go to a party at all," Close countered. "So yeah, I'm okay."
A spokesperson for Close confirmed her split from biotech entrepreneur Shaw back in September 2015, noting at the time that the former couple's split was amicable. Close and Shaw married in 2006 in Maine; the marriage was her third.

While Close admits to feeling happy on her own, the actress recently admitted during her Jan. 9 appearance on Watch What Happens Live that her favorite onscreen kiss throughout her career was with Robert Redford in the 1984 baseball drama The Natural.
"I only got to kiss him once," she said, to which host Andy Cohen asked, "Only one take?" "No, no, maybe we did two takes," Close responded, adding, "But I also threw him out of my apartment in that movie. But I ended up with him."
Back in Action, which also stars Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Kyle Chandler and Andrew Scott, is Close's first movie release of 2025. She most recently appeared in the movies Brothers, The Summer Book and The Deliverance. Back in Action begins streaming on Netflix Jan. 17.
