Sophie Turner slams 'disrespectful' Game of Thrones fans
The stars of HBO’s blockbuster series Game of Thrones are starting to pipe up in response to angry backlash over the show’s final season, and the latest to join the fray is everybody’s favourite, Sophie Turner.
Sophie’s been making headlines for her impromptu wedding to Joe Jones and her starring roles in several big budget films, but she’s still found time to let Game of Thrones fans knows what she thinks.
WARNING: Potential Spoilers
The 23-year-old plays Sansa Stark on the hit series, and much like her character she’s got no time for ungrateful followers.
“It’s disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season,” she told The New York Times. “Like 50-something night shoots.”
“People always have an idea in their heads of how they want a show to finish,” she continued, “...so when it doesn’t go to their liking, they start to speak up about it.”
Sophie was responding to fans’ outcry of the unpopular seventh season of the show, which culminated in a petition to remake the final season which was signed by over one million people.
She’s not the first star to speak up. Kit Harrington did not mince his words when he said critics of the series could ‘go f**k themselves’ in an interview with Esquire earlier in the year.
Sophie recently made headlines as details of her history with Joe Jonas surfaced, proving that the road to love can be a rocky one.
