The ordeal took place in February during the eighth month of her pregnancy, when Gadot said she experienced “excruciating headaches” that confined her to bed.

After undergoing an MRI scan, surgery was recommended. “In one moment, my family and I were faced with how fragile life can be,” she said.

Gadot, 39, continued: “We rushed to the hospital, and within hours, I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear. Her name, meaning ‘my light’ wasn’t chosen by chance.”

“Thanks to an extraordinary team of doctors at Cedars-Sinai hospital and weeks of dedicated care, I made it through and began the road to recovery. Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I’ve been given back.”

Gadot is married to Jaron Varsano, an Israeli businessman. They now have four children: Alma, Maya, Daniella, and Ori.

It is unclear how Gadot’s experience impacted her work, but Deadline revealed in November that she had signed up for The Runner, a London-set action thriller that will be directed by Kevin Macdonald.

She will next be seen starring as the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action Snow White which is due for domestic release on March 21, 2025. Gadot also recently wrapped production on In the Hand of Dante from director Julian Schnabel, and has numerous projects in development under her production company, Pilot Wave, alongside Varsano.

Gadot is repped by WME.
