‘G20’ Trailer: President Viola Davis Fights to Save the World in Prime Video Action Thriller
In the trailer for Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming thriller “G20,” EGOT winner Viola Davis plays the president of the United States as she fights to survive during a siege of the G20 international summit.
Davis’s character, President Danielle Sutton, travels with her family to the G20 in Cape Town when it is suddenly overtaken by forces who want economic control. Davis is seen escaping the attack and fighting in hand-to-hand combat. According tot he film’s official logline, Davis’ President Sutton “must outsmart the enemy to protect her family, defend her country and safeguard world leaders in this action-packed thrill ride.”

Playing Davis’ family are Anthony Anderson as Derek Sutton and Marsai Martin as Serena Sutton. The cast also includes Ramón Rodríguez playing Agent Manny Ruiz, Elizabeth Marvel as Joanna Worth, Sabrina Impacciatore as Elena Romano, Douglas Hodge playing Oliver Everett, Antony Starr as Rutledge and Christopher Farrar as Demetrius Sutton.
The film is directed by Patricia Riggen and written by Caitlin Parrish and Erica Weiss and Logan Miller and Noah Miller. Andrew Lazar produces alongside Davis and Julius Tennon.
“With ‘G20,’ I wanted to make the kind of classic, edge-of-your-seat action film that I’ve always been such a fan of, but one that draws on the high stakes of our modern and technologically advanced world we live in. I hope to give audiences an experience that will captivate them from start to finish,” Riggen said in a statement.
