Former Wiggle Sam Moran spills on his current relationship with the band
EXCLUSIVE: Sam opens up about going solo after The Wiggles.
Former Wiggle Sam Moran has opened up about his current relationship with the band ahead of the release of the Prime Video documentary, Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles, next week.
The children’s entertainer famously replaced Greg Page as the Yellow Wiggle in 2006 and stayed with the group until 2012 when Greg returned.
He has since gone on to host his own preschool series on Nick Jr., win an ARIA Award for Best Children’s Album, and sign a record deal with one of the biggest music labels in the world, Republic Records.
Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle around the release of his new album, All The Feels, Sam admits he hasn’t had much contact with the band in recent years.
“Not really, no,” he says. “Obviously, The Wiggles documentary is coming up soon and so I did an interview for that, but how much I'm in that at the end of the day, I guess you and I will both have to have our Prime Video subscriptions to find out.
“The director had kind of told me the story she was trying to tell, and certainly it was a story that still resonates with me and kind of the relationship that the music has with the audience. And that's something that I continue to have today.”

When asked if he’s ever been in contact with Emma Watkins, who performed as the Yellow Wiggle from 2013 to 2022, Sam shares that they did when she first joined the group.
“We did talk about some things then, but we haven't crossed paths too much since then,” he says. “But perhaps in the future.”
'Wearing a lot more hats'
Sam went on to say that his transition from a member of The Wiggles to a solo performer wasn’t as easy as it may have seemed.
“I did have quite a few years doing Play Along With Sam with Nickelodeon, so that got the ball rolling on doing things by myself. But it does feel like you’re carrying a lot more on your shoulders and you're wearing a lot more hats,” he details.
“Was it a seamless transition? No, it was something that I certainly had to reassess what I was doing. But certainly, things like the ARIA Award and then people listening to music and the feedback you're getting certainly validates that you're on the right path and you're doing what you're meant to be doing.”
Sam Moran’s new album All The Feels is available to stream now on all music platforms.
