Former Neighbours star Adelaide Kane has landed a new role on hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy, sharing the news on Instagram.
The 31-year-old took to the app to share the career update, writing, "I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV!
"So hyped to be a part of such a historic series! Can’t wait to be covered in fake blood and bodily fluids on a daily basis 😂 tysm!"
According to Deadline, the actress will star as one of four new first-year surgical residents at Grey Sloan, in the upcoming 19th season of the show.
The publication reports, "Kane’s Jules Millin was raised by drug addled artist/hippies and somehow emerged as the only real grown-up in the family. Because she always had to take care of herself and her parents, she can be a little bossy – but her heart is always in the right place.
"She’s not afraid to break the rules to save a life, and sometimes it gets her in trouble."
Fans were excited for Adelaide, with one user writing, "Now I’m down to watch Grey's Anatomy."
"What? My favourite actor in my favourite show," another added.
"OMG! Yes! Love Grey's Anatomy, now I get to see you on it," a third wrote. "So happy for this news. Congrats!"
"Omggg now I actually have to catch up on years of Grey's that I've missed so I can watch you," someone else added.
Adelaide is best known for her role as Mary, Queen of Scots, in the historical drama Reign after starting her career on Neighbours in 2007 as Lolly Allen.
She also recently starred in Once Upon A Time and appeared in Teen Wolf, This Is Us, and The Purge.
