Yahoo Lifestyle Will Ferrell and Chad Smith Have Fans 'Seeing Double’ During Playful Moment Mid-Lakers Game
Fans had to do a double take at a recent Los Angeles Lakers game after Will Ferrell and Chad Smith met on the jumbotron in a hilarious moment.
Ferrell was enjoying the Lakers game against the Utah Jazz on Feb. 10 with his son Magnus, only to come face to face with his lookalike, Smith.
A fan shared a clip of the fun moment on social media, writing, "Seeing 'double' tonight at the #Lakers game 😂 I love when #willferrell & #chadsmith are in the same place."
In the clip, Ferrell played around on camera, eating a snack as he relaxed in his seat wearing a black sweatshirt, a fur bucket hat and sunglasses. After a moment, the camera cut to Smith, the drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who looked over and pointed at Ferrell.
The Step Brothers actor pointed back, leading to a fun face-off as the camera cut back and forth, with the two smiling and waving by the end of it.
One fan played along in the comments, joking, "How did Will change so fast for that other camera angle?" as another person replied, "movie magic baby."
"We need annual seeing them in the same room to reconfirm they arent the same person lol," said someone else.
More wrote, "Chad Smith looks more like Will Ferrell than Will Ferrell," "the happiness I just felt. love these two," and "This will never not be hilarious."
A few also couldn't help but point out that Ferrell's outfit was reminiscent of a memorable scene in the movie The Other Guys with his character's alter ego Gator, such as one who wrote, "First of all. That ain't Will that's Gator! Don't play with him."
It's well known that Ferrell and Smith look alike, and the two have played up their resemblance in the past. In 2014, they even made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon dressed the same before performing an iconic drum-off.
