Farmer Wants A Wife's Matt and Olivia share update as fan favourite pair split

Farmer Wants A Wife's Matt Young and Olivia Benic have shared an update on their relationship, days after Sophie Holcombe confirmed she and Farmer Brenton had split.

While things seem to have turned sour for Sophie and Brenton, it appears as though Matt and Olivia are doing better than ever.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Matt shared a series of snaps of himself and Olivia on a bush walk.

"Good times with an even better lady," he captioned the post, sharing a photo of himself and Olivia smiling widely for the camera.

"You guysss," one follower wrote, while another added, "Super cute! Love her."

Last month, Matt shared a video encouraging others to sign up for Farmer Wants A Wife, writing, "Happy to have found my special person. If you’re looking for your special person, you may find them on Season 14 of Farmer Wants A Wife."

"Olivia and I met on season 13 of Farmer Wants a Wife and as applications are drawing closer and closer to closing for season 14 I think now is a good time to do your application," Matt says in the video.

"I think it was very worthwhile for Matt and I to do it even though it was a funny time, very worth it in the end," Olivia adds. "You might find your dream farmer!"

Sophie announces split from Farmer Brenton

Sophie announced she and Farmer Brenton had split with a post on Instagram on Tuesday.

"I have an update to share," Sophie began her short statement. "With a heavy heart, I want to let everyone know Brenton and I have gone our separate ways. Reg [Sophie's dog] and I loved our life in Darriman and have been missing the farm a lot."

She hinted that the split wasn't amicable, adding, "It’s a disappointing ending, but I’ve learned a lot about myself and my values.

"I wish Brenton all the best and want to thank everyone for their support, especially my family and friends."

Brenton, meanwhile, has not commented on the split at all, with his most recent post coming two days ago, when he shared snaps from his Farmer Wants A Wife journey.

"Still up there with some of the best times and best people," he wrote alongside several photos, including one with Sophie and other contestants.

Sophie's last post with Brenton was a shared post from the couple from June 23 where they encouraged others to sign up for the next season of the show.
