Farmer Wants A Wife fans heartbroken for Farmer Joe after shock exit: 'Absolutely crushed'

Farmer Wants A Wife fans were left heartbroken after one of Farmer Joe's ladies, Susie, decided to leave the show as she quickly realised farm life wasn't for her.

Susie only joined the show an episode earlier as one of Joe's mum's picks for him. The pair had incredible chemistry, and some fans declared she might be "the one" for him after they first met. Some even said that it looked like "love at first sight."

During Sunday night's Country Ball, where all the farmers and their remaining ladies enjoyed a night of dancing and live music, Susie felt uneasy and revealed she had doubts about farm life.

"The more things we do, the more I recognise that that's not the lifestyle for me," she tells Claire tearfully, saying she doesn't know what to do because she likes Joe so much.

"There was an instant physical connection with Joe, but this definitely is not how I expected to feel about farm life," she told producers.

Joe has already told the other farmers that he feels like Susie could be the one for him, saying, "I can see myself falling in love with her."

Finally, Susie gets Joe alone to tell him how she's feeling, saying, "You love your horses and you love your farm and you love where you are. You deserve someone who is sure about that lifestyle. And it would be really disingenuous for me to stay. I’ve tried and I realised I don’t like it."

"That's disappointing," he said, looking heartbroken.

After they've said their farewells, Joe tells the group that Susie has left, adding, "I want everyone here to really think about that – if it’s something you truly want. Because the farm is an extension of me. It’s my life. It’s where I want to be. And that won’t change about me at all."

Fans took to social media to share their heartbreak for Farmer Joe, with one user writing, "Felt so sorry for him, I think he really liked her, you can tell 😢."

"Seeing his happy face turn to devastation was heartbreaking to watch 🥹💔," another added.

"My heart broke for Joe," a third wrote.

"So feel for farmer Joe looks absolutely crushed over this news I so hope he does find his forever love," a fourth added.

Others were left unimpressed by Susie's decision, with one user writing, "These girls that apply for a show called Farmer Wants A Wife then say that the farm lifestyle is not for them…lord give me strength! Apply for Love Island next time."

"Crazy question - why did she not do a farm stay BEFORE hoping to marry a farmer?" another said.

"I would gladly move to the farm for this man. What a great person he is and any of those girls will be lucky to have him," a third said. "The show is called ‘farmer wants a wife’ so I’m not sure what she was expecting tbh."

Some defended her, wth another saying, "You all make it sound like [if you've] seen one farm you've seen them all. Maybe this one was more remote than she realised. Maybe the type of work on this farm didn’t suit her. Maybe it was too cold. Maybe it was just this farm not all farms.

"How would you know 'til you go check it out. Visiting a farm stay isn’t not going to tell you all you need to know about all types of farms. It’s sad for both of them but obviously not meant to be."
