Farmer Wants A Wife Exclusive: 'Unfair' reality for every farmer's runner-up
"The farmers are heavily discouraged by Channel Seven producers to talk to the other finalists ever again."
When the farmers say goodbye to their runner-up or other finalists on Farmer Wants A Wife, this is the last time they usually ever talk to them, with an insider telling Yahoo Lifestyle that it's an "unfair" but true reality about being on the show.
"The farmers are heavily discouraged by Channel Seven producers to talk to the other finalists ever again," an insider tells us. "When you saw Farmer Dustin say goodbye to Anna that was the last she ever heard from him, which would surprise audiences."

Farmer Wants A Wife fans slam major change to this season: 'Gotten out of hand'
"The cold shoulder from each farmer is brutal and many of the girls are left wondering where it all went wrong, especially the girls who make it to the final two!"
When asked about the elimination and what happens when the girls are broken up with, our source revealed, "The process is to get them out of there and to let the 'on-hand psychologist' do their job."
"They get reassured and mental health experts do follow up with calls, as the show airs but it would be good if there was some proper explanation, not something that is on camera. Just some time to work out what was TV magic and what was real."
"The girls at each farm are mostly still friends but nothing was ever said to Anna," confirms her close friend. "I think she would like an explanation of when his feelings changed to Sophie. You give up your life for nearly three months and the heightened reality of filming a TV show does make things feel more real, when they might not have been."
The continue, "Other girls have explained that it would have been nice to encourage the men to give more of an explanation, as most of them leave questioning the whole process. It is unfair."
Farmer Bert was the only farmer who ignored producers' advice
One farmer did, however, check back in with the girls on his farm.
"Farmer Bert was pretty much the only farmer to check back in with his girls and that was something he was told not to do," the insider adds. "I'd say much like Farmer Benjamin in 2022, the story for Farmer Bert is not over. The fans are watching his Instagram hoping to see what is really going on with Lauren."
"Farmer Benjamin is still with Hannah [one of the girls from his farm] after leaving the competition for health reasons. He took his love story into his own hands and that will be the advice he would have given Farmer Bert."
Farmer Benjamin was forced to send three of his ladies home, including Hannah, when he found out about his grandmother's passing and he himself was diagnosed with a "health issue", with doctors telling him he needed to leave the show and focus on getting better.
It comes after Yahoo Lifestyle revealed Bert left the show as he "felt uncomfortable with his producers and their suggestions on how to handle the remaining women".
"He no longer felt like he could go on and pretend just for the show."
It was revealed that what was happening on Bert's farm was worlds away from the other farms, and it was "like they were filming a different show".
An insider then revealed to us that Bert is now dating Lauren McNeil, who chose to leave the show a few weeks ago after finding the competition for his heart to be too much.

Our insider says the reason he quit might also be that "he was strong-armed into letting her go," adding the pair will likely go public after the show finishes airing in late May.
"Farmer Bert is a good guy, and he will have no problems finding someone once the show finishes," confirms a close friend, who adds, "But he has gotten closer to Lauren and they have been keeping things quiet. I’d say he was fed up with production, and knew he made a mistake letting her leave and was waiting to reconnect.
