While Gwen Stefani is busy being a coach on The Voice season 26, she's also making major moves in the music industry.
The former No Doubt singer has released new songs over the last few months, with her latest album Bouquet dropping in November. She moved from the world of rock to the world of classical music when she teamed up with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli for an emotional duet called "Holding On," featured on Andrea's recent album Duets. The two recently collaborated on a joint Instagram post to reveal that fans can now enjoy the lyric video for the track on YouTube.
"Who’s heard the beautiful new song with Gwen Stefani — 'Holding On?'" Andrea wrote in the caption of the Instagram. "The reaction to the track has been phenomenal, the brand new lyric video is out now!"
Shortly after the news broke online, Gwen shared her excitement. "Such an honor to do this song with you 🫶🏼 ✨ @andreabocelliofficial 💕gx," she replied in the comments.
Fans of both artists were ecstatic to see the two make music together, with some even expressing surprise at the collaboration.
"Phenomenal duet!!! Beautiful song, beautiful vocals. I hope we get a TV performance ❤️❤️❤️," one person inquired. "Two people I never imagined doing a duet, and it’s beautiful!" a different person commented on the YouTube lyric video, to which another replied, "Agree. I was surprisingly shocked to see these two. So far, it’s beautiful."
It's thrilling to witness Gwen continue to venture outside of the pop-rock genre in exciting ways. As her longtime fans know, she loves to sing country duets with her husband, Blake Shelton. Their most recent duet, "Purple Irises," came out in February, and we hope to see even more music from the pair soon.
Until then though, we are more than happy to listen to Gwen and Andrea's gorgeous song on repeat.
