Emmys Red Carpet 2024: Clear trend emerges as stars arrive ahead of awards ceremony
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards are moments away, but first we have to see what everyone is wearing!
The Emmys are back for a second time this year after the 2023 show was pushed back to January due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The stars have started arriving on the red carpet at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, with celebs such as Nicola Coughlan, Catherine O'Hara and Selena Gomez looking dazzling in gowns adorned with shimmering embellishments.
Sequins, beaded details and metallics seemed to be the dominant trend on the red carpet this year as the celebs pulled out all the stops in their incredible couture. From Jennifer Aniston's strapless column dress to Reese Witherspoon's bejewelled motif on her strapless black ballgown, it looks like the motto this year was more is more!
Of course, the red carpet is simply a prelude to the awards being handed out and this year Shogun leads the charge with 25 nominations.The Bear closely follows behind with 23 – breaking the record for nominations for a comedy series. Meanwhile, Gomez's hit series Only Murders in the Building was the third most nominated show, with 21 nods.
Schitt's Creek stars Eugene and Dan Levy are set to host the prestigious ceremony and arrived on the red carpet looking suitably dapper ahead of their emceeing duties.
