Emmys 2024 Poll: Who Should Win for Supporting Actor in a Limited Series?
A Marvel superhero leads the pack in this year’s Emmy race for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series — but the rest of the nominees aren’t going away without a fight.
Recently minted Oscar winner Robert Downey Jr. is the early frontrunner in this category, thanks to his kaleidoscopic performance as five different characters in HBO’s post-Vietnam War saga The Sympathizer. He’ll face competition, though, from Jonathan Bailey, who earned his first career nomination as star-crossed lover Tim in Showtime’s epic romance Fellow Travelers. Plus, New Girl veteran Lamorne Morris is enjoying the first Emmy nod of his career for playing noble deputy Witt Farr in Season 5 of FX’s Fargo.

Oscar nominee John Hawkes is in the mix as well for playing Alaska cop Hank Prior in HBO’s True Detective: Night Country, and he’s joined by a pair of fresh faces: Lewis Pullman, for playing researcher Calvin Evans in Apple TV+’s Lessons in Chemistry; and Tom Goodman-Hill, for playing predatory writer Darrien in Netflix’s Baby Reindeer. Finally, the late Treat Williams earned a posthumous nod for his work as legendary TV executive Bill Paley in FX’s FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans.
So would you hand Downey an Emmy to go along with his Oscar? Or would you rather see one of the other nominees take home the trophy? We want to know what you think: Vote for your favorite in the poll below, and then hit the comments to defend your pick.
We’ll reveal the results of our Emmy polls next month, before the actual awards are given out on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 8/7c on ABC. Scroll down to cast your votes in any polls you may have missed; voting will end at 5 pm ET on Friday, Sept. 6.
