Emma Roberts and Fiancé Cody John Make First Public Appearance Since Announcing Engagement

Emma Roberts is in post-engagement bliss!

On Tuesday, July 23, Roberts, 33, and her fiancé Cody John appeared together in Gassin, France, at the Summer Gala by Gala One at the Golf Club Saint-Tropez. It marked the couple's first public appearance since Roberts announced her engagement via an Instagram post on July 16.

John and Roberts matched during the outing, with the Space Cadet star's beau donning a solid black shirt and black shoes to match Roberts' floor-length black dress.

Roberts has been dating John, an actor whose credits include episodes of Wu-Tang: An American Saga, In the Dark and the recent movie Jaunt, since at least August 2022. At that time, John first made the couple's romance public when he he shared a photo of himself and Roberts kissing by a body of water. Roberts later posted images of John on her own Instagram for the first time in December 2022, when she shared a photo of them holding hands to celebrate New Year's Eve.

The American Horror Story star announced her engagement by sharing a selfie of herself and John beaming with her engagement ring. "putting this here before my mom tells everyone ❤️," Roberts wrote in the caption to her post.

Unlike Roberts, who maintains an active social media presence on Instagram, her fiancé does not post online often; his last two Instagram posts came as he marked Roberts' birthdays in each of the last two years.

"happy birthday teenie tiny 🫠🫠," he wrote in a caption to his Feb. 10 post marking Roberts' 33rd birthday, accompanied by a black-and-white photo of him planting a kiss on her cheek.

Roberts was previously engaged to her American Horror Story costar Evan Peters, whom she dated on and off from 2012 until their breakup in 2019. She was then in a relationship with actor Garrett Hedlund from 2019 until 2022; the pair share one son together, 3-year-old Rhodes Robert Hedlund.

Roberts has appeared in two movies this year, including Madame Web and the recent Space Cadet.
