Ellen Degeneres' blunt response to ex Anne Heche's horror car crash

Ellen Degeneres has finally broken her silence on her ex-girlfriend Anne Heche's horror 140km/h car crash that has left the star in a coma.

The 53-year-old crashed her Mini Clubman into a house, causing a huge fire and destroying the home and car.

Anne is currently in hospital and reportedly in a coma following the accident.

In a clip posted by ET, Ellen was approached by a paparazzi photographer who asked if she'd spoken with Anne since the accident, despite reports of the coma.

"No, have not," Ellen said. "We’re not in touch with each other, so I wouldn’t know."

However, she did send well wishes, saying, "I don’t want anyone to be hurt."

"It was quite a dangerous accident that happened, wasn't it?" the photographer asked, to which Ellen replied, "Sure was."

According to Daily Mail, close friends of Anne's fear she will die from the smoke inhalation following the fiery crash.

Anne is fighting for her life in the "worst state you can imagine" with TMZ reporting cocaine was detected in her blood tests, however, no alcohol was found.

A close friend told Daily Mail, "She is in a terrible condition. The smoke inhalation is life-threatening."

They added, "She needs everyone’s prayers. She is in the worst state you can imagine. Whatever you believe in, please pray for her, please."

It comes after Anne's reps told Deadline, "At this time Anne is in extreme critical condition. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention."

"She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident," they added.

Anne was intubated with horrific burns following the crash.
