American actress Anne Heche is "lucky to be alive" and has severe burns after an accident that saw her car smash into a house and erupt into flames.
Anne's speeding car ran off the road at a T-intersection and hit a car in Mar Vista, a suburb of Los Angeles on Friday.
The car was engulfed in flames inside the two-storey house with the fire taking 60 firefighters over an hour to douse, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"Anne is in the ICU, she’s lucky to be alive," a source told CNN. "She has severe burns and has a long recovery ahead. Her team and her family are still trying to process what led up to the crash."
Now, new details have emerged revealing Anne joked about drinking vodka with wine chasers in an episode of her podcast that was published the same day as the crash. The episode has since been taken down.
It's unknown if Anne recorded the podcast on the same day as it was released, however, she complained about having a "bad day".
The actress and co-host Heather Duffy spoke about drinking free vodka provided to the them by a podcast sponsor and washing it down with white wine, with Anne saying she was having a "very bad day".
"I don’t know what happened, sometimes days just suck and I don’t know if you ever have them [but] some days, those no good, very bad days, and some days just end up like this," she shared.

Following the crash, Heather shared a statement that read, "Anne is currently in stable condition. Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers and to respect her privacy during this difficult time."
Lynne Bernstein, a witness, described the crash as "horrific", saying he could "hardly breathe" as he tried to assist the star out of the Mini Clubman she was driving.
"The smoke was just getting way too intense, we could hardly breathe," Bernstein said. "The smoke was making it difficult to see."
The witness shared that he and his wife saw the car moving at a "high rate of speed" before they heard the car crash into their neighbour's house.
He added that his neighbour, Dave Manpearl, asked Anne if she was alright and she told him she was not.
Speaking with the Daily Mail, Dave said, "I was positive that the driver was dead."
"That she had burned up. It took at least 30 minutes for the fire department to douse the flames, extract the car and pull her out of the car."
"I was surprised to find out that it was Anne Heche. I think I knew she had had problems in the past," he added.
A resident was present at the time of the accident, but was not injured and initially didn't realise what had happened, telling a group of people inside her home to "get out", before realising a car had hit her house.
The actress has previously admitted to using drugs and alcohol in the past and famously dated Ellen Degeneres from 1997 to 2000, according to the New York Post. Ellen has not released a statement.
Anne's brother Nathan died aged 18 in a car crash in 1983.
The star is mum to two sons, Homer, 20, and Atlas, 13, who she shares with two different exes.
