Anne Heche in a coma after car crash: 'Extreme critical condition'
Anne Heche is in a coma and in "extreme critical condition" following the horrific car crash that saw her lose control of her Mini Clubman as it crashed into a house, setting both on fire.
"At this time Anne is in extreme critical condition. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention," a representative said in a statement to Deadline.
"She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident."
Anne was intubated with horrific burns following the crash.
It comes just days after her publicist first shared the more optimistic news that the 53-year-old was in a "stable condition".

The Daily Mail reports that police insiders have revealed the actress is set to be investigated over the crash, with her speed allegedly over 90MPH (145KMH).
LAPD sources told TMZ that the star may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the crash occurred.
It comes after a source told CNN, "Anne is in the ICU, she’s lucky to be alive. She has severe burns and has a long recovery ahead. Her team and her family are still trying to process what led up to the crash."
It has also emerged that Anne was joking about drinking vodka with wine chasers in an episode of her podcast that was published the same day as the crash. The episode has since been taken down.
It's unknown if Anne recorded the podcast on the same day as it was released, however, she complained about having a "bad day".
The actress and co-host Heather Duffy spoke about drinking free vodka provided to them by a podcast sponsor and washing it down with white wine, with Anne saying she was having a "very bad day".

"I don’t know what happened, sometimes days just suck and I don’t know if you ever have them [but] some days, those no good, very bad days, and some days just end up like this," she shared.
Lynne Bernstein, a witness, described the crash as "horrific", saying he could "hardly breathe" as he tried to assist the star out of the Mini Clubman she was driving.
"The smoke was just getting way too intense, we could hardly breathe," Bernstein said. "The smoke was making it difficult to see."
The witness shared that he and his wife saw the car moving at a "high rate of speed" before they heard the car crash into their neighbour's house.
The actress has previously admitted to using drugs and alcohol in the past and famously dated Ellen Degeneres from 1997 to 2000, according to the New York Post. Ellen has not released a statement.
