Dustin Hoffman, 87, Looks Unrecognizable During Rare Outing in New York
Dustin Hoffman was out and about in New York City this week, but fans may not have been able to tell it was even him.
The Oscar-winning actor, 87, looked nearly unrecognizable as he was spotted by cameras while taking a stroll in the Big Apple on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
In the photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Hoffman appeared to be trying to keep a low profile, hiding his face behind a black hat and a pair of sunglasses.
But it was his facial hair that really made it difficult to recognize the Rain Man star, as he was rocking some scruffy white stubble, as opposed to his usual clean-shaven look.
Hoffman, who has won two Academy Awards throughout his career, once for his role in 1979's Kramer vs. Kramer and again in 1989 for Rain Man, most recently worked on the movie Megalopolis from director Francis Ford Coppola.
The sci-fi drama film, which releases later this month, also stars Adam Driver, Shia LaBeouf, Grace VanderWaal, Aubrey Plaza, Chloe Fineman and Jon Voight.
A recent report from Radar Online suggested that Hoffman is getting ready to "say farewell" to Hollywood following his role in Megalopolis, which premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in May.
However, it appears that he may not be ready to call it a wrap on his acting career just yet as Hoffman is slated to star in the new crime thriller, Tuner, per his IMDB page, directed by Oscar Winner Daniel Roher (Navalny.) Also signed on to co-star in the new film is White Lotus actor Leo Woodall. He also has a project called Lucca Mortis in post-production.
