Drew Barrymore reunites with 'baby' Aubrey Plaza on talk show: 'Hello, mother'

Plaza also introduced Barrymore to her "granddaughter," her "My Old Ass" costar Maisy Stella.

Drew Barrymore got to spend some quality time with her daughter on Tuesday’s episode of her talk show — and, no, we’re not talking about Frankie or Olive.

The host welcomed her “daughter” Aubrey Plaza to the show, a nod to the pair’s wonderfully unhinged 2022 interview where Plaza confessed that she wished Barrymore was her mom and complimented the temperature of Barrymore's womb.

Barrymore rushed to greet Plaza — who was joined by her My Old Ass costar Maisy Stella — as they entered the studio. “Why do you look so hot?” She immediately asked Plaza. In turn, the Agatha All Along actress responded, “Hello, mother.”

“This is my baby,” Barrymore to the audience as she pointed toward Plaza. “And Natasha Lyonne is her father. How are we, baby?”

Plaza replied as all children do when catching up with parents: “I’m fine, mother.”

Barrymore, naturally, fussed over Plaza’s knee. “Oh, I just had a bad accident on my knee,” Plaza explained. “It’s the second time I’ve done it, too. I did my left one seven years ago playing basketball and now I did my right one.”

And, as it turns out, Plaza had a surprise in store for Barrymore: a new addition to their growing faux family. Referring to Stella, she added, “I want you to meet your granddaughter.”

Plaza previously described Barrymore as a “dream mom” while sitting down for the Drew’s News podcast in 2022. “I'll say the same thing I say to my girls,” Barrymore replied, “Get back in my belly."

Plaza also requested that Barrymore “feed me” and “put me to bed,” which Barrymore was happy to do. “I’m good at it too. I put them in the nook of my arm and I hold them and I pet them."

She added, “Oh god, what I wouldn't do to put you to bed.”
