Drew Barrymore once made an ex watch her have drinks with the woman he was cheating on her with: 'Shut up and listen!'

"I was like, 'You're gonna sit here and you're gonna listen to the two of us talk!'"

Hell hath no fury like a Drew Barrymore scorned.

During Monday’s episode of her talk show, the actress, 49, recalled the unique way that she chose to get revenge on an unnamed ex-boyfriend after learning that he was cheating on her. And yes, you can bet she made sure he properly atoned for his relationship crimes.

“I found out my ex-boyfriend was cheating on me. This was decades ago,” Barrymore explained to guest SZA. “I took all of his stuff in my house and I put it all in his car and then I rolled his car down his driveway and left it there and just walked away.”

But that was only the first step in Barrymore’s plan. “Then I made the girl he was cheating on me with meet me for drinks with him sitting there,” she added. “I was like, ‘You’re gonna sit here and you’re gonna listen to the two of us talk! So shut up and listen!’ And then I drove him home and I looked at him and I go, ‘Now get out.’”

While Barrymore did not explicitly name her past partner, she did note that they’ve since remedied their relationship and that he’s gone on to become a “dear friend” over the years. “We were young and stupid!” she said in his defense. “I did dumb things too!”

SZA was all for it. “That wasn’t stupid. That was fire. I’m inspired. I’m deeply inspired,” she remarked. “I want to go to coffee and get out of the car.”

Barrymore then swore that she’d teach the “Drew Barrymore” singer “all my old tricks,” because she’s gone on to have meaningful platonic relationships with all of her exes. She continued, “Later, I’m like, ‘Listen, you know what, we were just kids. I made mistakes too. And we’re human beings. And there was so much I loved about you. And can we be in each other’s lives?’”

While SZA appreciated Barrymore’s sentiment, she didn’t exactly subscribe to her thought process. “Maybe in the future? Maybe after some time?” Barrymore asked the Grammy winner. “Time heals.”

To which SZA quipped back, “No it don’t. Time passes, baby. Time passes!” A laughing Barrymore added, “We need more of each other in our lives.”

This isn’t the first time that Barrymore has opened up about the extreme methods she’s taken to get back at an ex. In a May episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, she revealed that she “vandalized my ex-boyfriend’s car” when she was a teen after he also cheated on her.

“I spray-painted it,” she said of the damage to the unknown boyfriend’s vehicle. “And he called me the next day and he was like, ‘Somebody hurt my car! My precious car! It wasn’t you was it?’ And I was like, ‘uh-uh.’”
