Dr Chris Brown's surprising new gig confirmed after Ten exit

We'll be seeing a lot more of the former Bondi Vet on our screens next year.

After months of speculation, Dr. Chris Brown’s new gig at Channel Seven has been announced, with Dancing With the Stars’ current host, Daryl Somers, revealing the former Ten star will replace him on the show.

Rumours began swirling over the weekend that the news would officially be announced on Wednesday, when Channel 7 present their upfronts the media, however Daryl decided to take matters into his own hands.

“Hi All, Just want to confirm the speculation that I will not be hosting Dancing With The Stars in 2024. Seven let me know recently that they have signed Chris Brown to the network full-time and amongst his commitments he will be hosting DWTS,” Daryl wrote on Facebook.

“I realise how fortunate I have been to have had such a long and wonderful run with the programme. Over a twenty year span, starting in 2004, I have completed ten series, the last one being a huge ratings success. Off the back of that I am happy to hand the Mirror Ball over to Chris and wish him all the very best. He should enjoy working with a great team both in front of and behind the camera.”

The Dancing With The Stars gig won’t be Dr. Chris Brown’s only appearance on the network, as in June it was announced that he will host a brand new show titled Dream Home, which is based on the successful New Zealand series of the same name that aired from 1999 to 2013.

The reality programme challenges couples to transform a dilapidated house into their dream home to win a cash prize, and will be produced by the team behind Married At First Sight, MasterChef and Big Brother.

Before this, it was speculated that Dr. Brown may take over from Kochie when he retired from Sunrise after 21 years, however, Olympian Matt Shirvington was given the role instead.
