The Dolce & Gabbana x Skims collaboration is shaping up nicely
The ubiquitous nature of leopard print continues to strengthen this season thanks to the news that Dolce & Gabbana and Skims are releasing a joint collection. Combining the Italian fashion houses' signature 'dolce vita' with the shapewear brand's sculpting silhouettes, the collection flirts with femininity, silky fabrics and corsetry to create pieces that feel inherently true to both brand's identities.
The co-designed collection follows on from the success of Kim Kardashian's personal collaboration with the luxury fashion house in 2022, which saw her produce a 85-piece runway collection titled 'Ciao Kim'.
Those familiar with Kardashian's previous collection will notice parallels in the Dolce & Gabbana x Skims collaboration, particularly in the use of sheer fabrics, corsets and, of course, leopard print, but there's a purposeful focus on the flattering and sculpting bodywear that Skims has become known for.
"We've taken classic Dolce & Gabbana silhouettes and leopard prints and reimagined them with the incredible fit and comfort that Skims is known for," says Kim Kardashian in a press release for the collection. "This is a truly iconic partnership that I'm so excited to share with the world."
The collection's visuals were conceived by Nadia Lee Cohen, an artist and photographer who's creatively produced previous Skims campaigns including the Lana Del Rey Valentine's Day capsule and holiday campaign. Cohen's inspiration from vintage cinema was present in the campaign images, which features both Kim and Kourtney Kardashian photographed in skin-tight leopard print silhouettes.
While specific details on the pieces included in the collection are still under wraps, we can expect to see an offering of sleep sets, lingerie, contouring underwear and corsets, available in XXS - 4X, with bra sizes ranging from 30A to 38DD.
The collection will be available to shop on the 19th of November from Skims.com, Skims retail stores and a selection of luxury retailers.
