Di Petsa Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear: Gladiators, Mermaids and Minotaurs
Greek designer Dimitra Petsa had a fruitful summer — there was love, friendship, sun, the sea and magical realism. She journaled every detail down, then translated it into her show, which is always more of an art performance than a means of selling clothes.
The venue was dotted with pieces of art the designer had created herself. The paintings depicted women pleasuring themselves that Petsa had created as votive offerings to the loves of her summer — some platonic, others erotic.

“Through self pleasure you can find self-discovery,” said Petsa backstage with a huge smile.
The show opened with models’ hands in the air blocking the bright lights that acted as the sun as they swayed and slithered across the runway in white towel skirts printed with the phrase “sea water, holy water”; gold foil dresses cut with slits in the rib cage to look like vulvas; sheer dresses that acted as a second skin that could only be worn by a mythical mermaid; white denim shift dresses tattered at the genitals and nipples; spikes coming out of denim bikini tops and jeans.
The designer’s brand is an ever growing one — she already has a celebrity following that includes Shakira, Kim Kardashian, Doja Cat, Gigi Hadid and more — but with the introduction of menswear, she’s turning up the heat.
One sun-kissed model that resembled Disney’s Hercules carried a flaming torch in a golden sling swimsuit made from the designer’s signature wet trompe-l’oeil fabric that was held together by a clear quartz crystal.
If any of Ridley Scott’s leading men in “Gladiator II” want to try method dressing for their upcoming press tour looks, Petsa certainly has some risqué ideas.
