Detail in royal Christmas card fans are losing it over: 'Biggest surprise'

Kate Middleton and Prince William released their annual royal Christmas card over the weekend, and there’s one detail in particular that has people talking.

The adorable snap shows the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sitting down with their children, Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and three-year-old Prince Louis.

It was taken during a family trip to Jordan earlier this year, with the whole family wearing their best summer attire.

Indeed, it’s that exact detail that has many royal fans shocked, claiming they don’t think they’ve seen Prince William in a pair of shorts since he was a child.

People took to social media in their droves to point this out, with one person writing: “The biggest surprise is William in shorts.”

Another person agreed, saying: “I can’t remember the last time I saw his knees.”

“Probably when he was a child! Shorts are usually reserved for royal children,” a fan responded.

“Prince William in shorts is exactly what I needed today,” a fan simply commented.

One fan even joked that it looked like the royals had secretly flown to Sydney to shoot the snap, due to the rugged coastal background.

“I’m sorry, when did the royals do the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk this year,” the person joked.

In contrast, while the Cambridge Christmas card showed the family on holiday together, Prince Charles and Camilla’s card was very different.

They released a photo from Royal Ascot this year, where Prince Charles is seen helping the Duchess of Cornwall to put on her face mask.
