Candace Cameron Bure Shares Update on ‘Full House’ Co-Star’s Cancer Battle
Candace Cameron Bure shared a health update for her former Full House co-star, Dave Coulier, three months after the actor announced his cancer diagnosis.
Coulier, 65, revealed in an interview with People last fall that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He has provided occasional health updates of his own since publicly sharing his diagnosis in mid-November 2024.
Cameron Bure, who starred on the popular family sitcom with Coulier for several years in the 1980s and 1990s, said she checks in regularly with the actor who played Uncle Joey Gladstone to her D.J. Tanner.
“I talk to Dave a lot, and he's still on his journey and doing okay,” the Fuller House alum said during a recent interview with People that was published on Saturday, Feb. 8. The 48-year-old actress noted that his family and friends will “see here in the next couple of months as his chemo rounds end how he's feeling.”
These days, the two talk on the phone and reminisce about their time acting together. She told the magazine that being there for Coulier in that way is “the most really anyone can do,” adding, “You're just there for people, whether it's to be a listening ear or give words of comfort and encouragement.”
Coulier said he began chemotherapy shortly after learning about his “very aggressive” form of cancer. Despite the scary diagnosis, Coulier told People at the time of his announcement that he was determined to “be strong throughout this” for himself and for his family members.
Last month, Coulier provided his fans with an update on his health during an episode of his Full House Rewind podcast. Though he admitted that his experience with his illness was “kind of a roller coaster ride” as his body fought an “internal battle,” he was overall “feeling good.”
