Deli Boys Pakistani American Comedy, Sly & The Family Stone Docu Get Hulu Premiere Dates
Two new projects from Onyx Collective — the Disney Entertainment Television brand that curates stories by creators of color and underrepresented voices, all with a culturally specific point of view — have been given Hulu premiere dates.
Deli Boys, an original scripted comedy, will premiere Thursday, March 6, 2025, while SLY LIVES! (aka The Burden of Black Genius), a film documentary about Sly & The Family Stone, will bow Thursday, Feb. 13.

In Deli Boys, when their convenience store-magnate father suddenly dies, a pair of pampered Pakistani American brothers (played by Asif Ali and Ms. Marvel‘s Saagar Shaikh) lose everything and are forced to reckon with their Baba’s secret life of crime as they attempt to take up his mantle in the underworld.
The cast for the 10-episode, half-hour series also includes Poorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever), Alfie Fuller (The Marvel Mrs. Maisel) and Brian George (The Expanse).
Deli Boys was created by Abdullah Saeed and developed by Jenni Konner and Nora Silve. Michelle Nader, who also serves as showrunner, is an executive producer alongside Saeed, Konner, Silver, pilot director Nisha Ganatra and Vali Chandrasekaran.
SLY LIVES! (aka The Burden of Black Genius) — from the creatives behind Onyx Collective’s award-winning documentary Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) — examines the life and legacy of Sly & The Family Stone, the groundbreaking band led by the charismatic and enigmatic Sly Stone.
The docu’s guests include Andre 3000, D’Angelo, Chaka Khan, Q-Tip, Nile Rogers, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, George Clinton, Ruth Copeland and Clive Davis, band members Jerry Martini, Greg Errico, Larry Graham and Cynthia Robinson, and family members Sylvette Phunne Robinson, Novena Carmel and Sylvester Stewart Jr.
