Dave Grohl's Wife Jordyn Blum Doesn't Want to 'Split Up' Family: 'Trying to Move Forward' from 'Betrayal' (Exclusive Source)
The rocker announced in September that he'd welcomed a baby with a woman outside his marriage
Dave Grohl and wife Jordyn Blum are doing their best to keep their family intact.
Three months after the Foo Fighter rocker’s shocking announcement that he’d become the father to a baby girl born outside his marriage to Blum, a source tells PEOPLE the couple is trying to move on.
“It was just such a shock for Jordyn. Her first instinct was that she wanted a divorce. The betrayal felt too heavy,” the insider says. “But as weeks passed, she got some space to think and it just felt very sad to her if the family would split up.”
The source adds that the couple’s marriage “is still not in great shape,” but “they are trying to move forward.”
Grohl, 55, and Blum, 48, married in 2003, and are parents to daughters Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
Reps for Grohl and Blum did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
In September, the star announced the birth of a fourth daughter, writing in an Instagram statement that he planned to “be a loving and supportive parent” to the child.
“I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he wrote. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
In November, a source told PEOPLE that Blum, the co-owner of an interior design firm, had “had time to process everything,” and that things had “calmed down” at home.
Both Grohl and his wife were spotted without their wedding rings in October, though an insider said in November that the rocker was no longer working with a divorce attorney, and was “instead hoping to work things out” with his wife.
“Dave’s been prioritizing his family,” a second insider said. “He knows he messed up. It’s one of those situations where you don’t realize what you have until you’re about to lose it. He doesn’t want to lose his family.”
Foo Fighters do not have any upcoming shows on the horizon after pulling out of a planned festival appearance in September.
