Fans excited about DWTS lineup after I'm A Celeb confusion
It’s a big time for reality TV on Channel Ten, with the new cast of Dancing With The Stars now confirmed as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on screen.
This year’s DWTS lineup of celebs includes popular drag entertainer Courtney Act, The Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges, Neighbours actress Olympia Valance and Karl Stefanovic’s ex-wife, Cassandra Thorburn.
The familiar list of names has sat well with fans, particularly after many viewers were left baffled by who some of the ‘celebrities’ actually were when I’m A Celeb kicked off.
“I’m so excited this cast is amazing!” wrote a fan on social media after the cast announcement on Wednesday morning.
“Wow what a great lineup!!” said another.
“Woohoo, I can’t wait to watch it again. So excited!!!” A third person wrote.
The revamped DWTS, hosted by Grant Denyer and Amanda Keller, will be made up of 11 contestants, also including actor Samuel Johnson, sports star Sir Curtly Ambrose, Studio 10 presenter Denise Scott, chef, The Living Room co-host Miguel Maestre, James Rees, aka Jimmy Giggle of Giggle And Hoot, as well as author Constance Hall, model Jett Kenny.
Some fans are already picking their favourites, with many rooting for ‘#teamcourtney’ and others cheering on comedian Denise Scott and trainer Michelle Bridges.
It’s certainly a different reaction compared to when the contestants for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! were revealed.
While the cast walked into the jungle during the season’s premiere, many confused fans were left baffled by who some of the ‘celebrities’ actually are.
“Who are these people #ImACelebrityAU,” wrote a viewer at the time.
“I wouldn’t call any of these people celebrities #ImACelebrityAU,” tweeted another.
This year’s I’m A Celeb lineup includes former Gogglebox stars Angie and Yvie, politician Jacqui Lambie, Love Island star Justin Lacko and former MasterChef star Justine Schofield.
Also joining them in the jungle is former of The X-Factor host Luke Jacobz, journalist Natasha Exelby – famous for her 2017 blooper – ‘gossip guru’ Richard Reid, actor Tahir Bilgiç and former AFL star Dermott Brereton.
Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester and politican Sam Dastyari have already been booted out of the South African jungle.
