Yahoo Lifestyle Daisy Edgar-Jones Embraces Metallic Trend in Givenchy Minidress With Swirl Illusions for ‘Twisters’ Oklahoma Premiere

Daisy Edgar-Jones embraced sculptural detail and glossy fabric for the “Twisters” Oklahoma City, Okla., special screening alongside her costars. The actress joined members of the cast and creative team for the red carpet event on Monday.

For the occasion, Edgar-Jones brought runway style to the red carpet. The “Normal People” breakout star fashioned a look courtesy of Givenchy’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection. The minidress look featured glossy, metallic silver fabric with swirl illusions throughout, creating a paint-like effect on the sleeveless dress.
There was also a sculptural element to the look, with a piece of fabric standing upright from the scoop neckline of the minidress. The look also featured the addition of a long train, which trailed behind Edgar-Jones as she walked the red carpet.
The actress, who previously wore pieces by Gucci and Victoria Beckham during the press tour for “Twisters,” continued the metallic motif with her choice of footwear. Edgar-Jones opted for a silver metallic pair of pointed toe heels by Le Silla. The “Twisters” star’s look was curated by stylist Dani Michelle, who also worked with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Hailey Bieber, among other stars.
Edgar-Jones’ Oklahoma City screening look made its runway debut during Paris Fashion Week last February. The collection, as noted in WWD’s review, harkened back to the French fashion house’s founder Hubert de Givenchy and his dressy, cocktail designs, often worn by the likes of Audrey Hepburn.
Along with the metallic look worn by Edgar-Jones, the collection included swing coats, chubby furs, suit jackets with severe shoulders, pencil skirts with draped elements and variations on the little black dress. Edgar-Jones’ selection seemingly married classic qualities Givenchy has long been known for with a contemporary edge ideal for such a red carpet event.
“Twisters” follows Kate Cooper (Edgar-Jones), a retired tornado-chaser and meteorologist, who returns to Oklahoma to work with a new team, including thrill-seeker Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), and new technologies to track down tornadoes once again. The film hits theaters on Friday.
