A hint of skin underneath crop tops and shorts was all the rage at this year's Oscars.
Zendaya showed off her midriff in a cropped silk menswear shirt and silver sequinned floor-length skirt by Valentino; Kristen Stewart opted for a cropped tuxedo with teeny shorts from Chanel; and West Side Story star and Best Supporting Actress winner Ariana De Bose wowed in a cropped Valentino corset with matching pants.
Here's how to emulate some cropped red carpet style of your own:
Make like Zendaya in this Lioness Gwyneth Crop Shirt, $75, from The Iconic. It's made from pure cotton poplin and has a natural stretch, making it super easy to wear. It has a collared neckline, a front hook fastening, and long sleeves.
If you're after a looser fitting cropped shirt, The Way-Short Shirt, $125 from Everlane is your answer. It's made from a high-twist, 100% cotton yarn, and has a silky feel. It has a collar, button-up front, and is perfect with high-waisted jeans or pants.

Get Ariana De Bose's look with this Ohganda V Neck Corset, $49.95, from Showpo. It's a cropped corset top with a deep V-neckline, and fixed straps. It has a stretchy shirred panel at the back so it's comfy, and boning on the bodice at the front.
If you're after a matching set, we love this Alexandra two-piece pant set, $109.95, also from Showpo. It includes a V-neck crop top that's fully lined and has a scoop at the back to show off some extra skin in a subtle way. The pants are high-rise, wide-legged and also fully lined. Because there are no pockets, you get a straight leg look. The whole set comes in a red-carpet-worthy satin finish.
Kristen Stewart's cropped tuxedo jacket is from Chanel, and if you want to push out the designer boat, The Outnet is currently selling this Proenza Schouler cropped satin-trimmed crepe tuxedo jacket for $1240 instead of $3029.
If you're after a cheaper option, Karen Millen also sells a Crop Tuxedo Jacket, for $140. This one has double lapels and double-breasted buttons.
Kristen paired her jacket with some tiny shorts to really make an impact. You can do the same with these High Rise Pintuck Faux Leather Short, $39.99, from Glassons. They have a flattering high-waisted fit, as well as pockets and a single pleat on each leg in the front.
If you prefer a satin over faux leather look, these Styland high-waisted satin shorts, $310, from Far Fetch, are great with a tuxedo-style jacket or waistcoat. They have a wide leg, two side slit pockets and flattering pleat detailing.
