John Singleton inspired her career in comedy, following a lunch in 2016 when he suggested Summers host an open mic night. Her first was held in 2019, and today, as the owner of the Hollywood Comedy Club, open mic events take place 7 days a week. On weekdays, they are held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a comedy show to follow on weekends. Summers focuses on producing minority and female-centric shows.

Additionally, she leads her hit podcast Tiger MILF, where the host and guests discuss just about anything under the sun. Previous topics have included relationships, race, career and family. As a comic’s comic, Summers is bold and doesn’t hold back on her responses, one of the biggest reasons her fanbase remains so devoted.

She is also an actress, the CEO of Summers Group, and a philanthropist who empowers women and children and supports causes that touch Asian American communities. She is also an Asian Hall of Fame inductee who made history as the first Chinese comedian to ever headline the Apollo Theater in New York City.

Currently, Summers is traveling the world in support of her “Jiaoying Summers: Origin Story” Tour with upcoming stops the remainder of this month in multiple cities in Texas and Oregon. She will close out the year with dates in New York, Hawaii, California, Guam, and multiple areas in Canada.
