Christy Carlson Romano finally left Special Forces: World's Toughest Test on Wednesday's episode, but only after 10 other competitors — including former Olympic athletes Nathan Adrian, Landon Donovan, Marion Jones, and Jordyn Wieber — did the same.

"I would think that nobody could have thought that me and Kyla Pratt would've made it as far as we did," the actress says of herself and fellow former Disney Channel actress Pratt in an interview with EW. "We surpassed Olympic medalists, and I think that's insane to think about."

Romano was the 11th recruit to leave the Fox show, which features ex-Special Forces operatives leading celebrities from various fields through brutally tough exercises. Pratt left 10th.

Now 40, Romano is perhaps best known for her work as a teen on Even Stevens the 2000 to 2003 series in which she played the older sister to Shia Labeouf's character, and for voicing the title character in the animated Kim Possible, Pratt voiced protagonist Penny Proud on The Proud Family from 2001 to 2005, when she herself was a teenager. So they have history.

"When I saw her walk down to the boat on the first episode, I jumped for joy," Romano says, "because I was trying to play it really cool and quiet, but then I saw her and my inner child came out. There's just something about growing up with somebody, I guess, as a young performer and...it's a sisterhood."

Seeing Pratt quit just before DS took away Romano's armband, which signifies that a recruit is no longer in the competition, was "heartbreaking" for her.

Romano's Disney connection went even deeper, though, because she also costarred alongside Hilary Duff in the 2002 Disney Channel movie Cadet Kelly. She played the merciless Cadet Captain Jennifer Stone. While the show circulated a clip of her saying that she's "good at turning on and being a leader" because of her role, Romano says that her words were not shown exactly as she said them.

"They kind re-edited that," she says.

She explains that she's not in touch with that Duff, but her older sister, Haylie Duff, has been "very supportive" of her. They see each other in their mutual adopted hometown of Austin.

While she's not sure about Cadet Kelly, Romano says that Kim Possible, about a badass teen girl who saves the world on the regular, is "overdue" for a reboot. (Romano popped up in the 2019 live-action, Disney Channel movie Kim Possible, as another character.)

"Kim Possible was really important to me, not as much Cadet Kelly, because with KP, she always said, 'You can do anything.'… She would take adversity. She's the most resilient person out there, and she makes it fun, and she has jokes, and she knows when to get serious. She's an expert leader. She takes care of others. And so I think I actually was harnessing more of my Kim Possible than I was Cadet Kelly."

Watching back the difficult things she went through in the series, such as jumping off bridges, being buried alive, and experiencing simulated drowning, has been rough.

"I've broken out into hives," Romano says. "I can only say I've never broken out into hives before."

She and Pratt and the rest of the cast are on a text chain to cheer each other on as the show continues.

"I think because we had this unique experience," Romano says, "it tied us so much closer together."

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
