Christina Hall had a pointed response to Josh Hall’s message about “hope.”

A day after her estranged husband shared a photo of a sculpture spelling out the word on his Instagram Stories, the HGTV star reposted the image with a message of her own on Thursday, Aug. 1.

“I ‘HOPE’ she pays me millions more than what she’s already offered me,” Christina wrote, seemingly referring to the various financial discrepancies involved in their ongoing divorce. She added the same praying hands emoji Josh had included in his post, along with a money emoji.

On Friday afternoon, a source close to Josh told PEOPLE that his post was not intended to be a reference to the divorce, and instead he took the photo at City of Hope, a cancer treatment facility where he was visiting his "sick best friend, who is a cop with a terminal illness." The blue heart represents his friend's profession and "this post had nothing to do with Christina," the source adds.

A source close to Christina tells PEOPLE that the HGTV star believed Josh to be in Nashville and "had no idea that he was at City of Hope." The hospital has locations around the country, but the majority are in Southern California, where the former couple are based.

Christina previously alleged in an ex parte filing that Josh mishandled money from two rental homes she owns in Tennessee, instructing a property manager to transfer $35,000 in rent payments to his personal bank account the day after she told him she wanted a divorce, on June 7.

Screenshots of the text messages allegedly showing Josh's request are included in the legal documents viewed by PEOPLE.

Christina previously posted a statement on her Instagram Stories on July 25, speaking out about Josh's request for what she feels is undue financial support.

“I have worked my a-- off to build this life for myself and my children and anyone who would try and take what they do not deserve/ what they did NOT work for should be ashamed,” she wrote.

She also referred to Josh as "an insecure man with a large ego” in the post.

Christina has starred on various HGTV shows since debuting alongside her first husband Tarek El Moussa on Flip or Flop in 2013, followed by successful solo spin-offs Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country. She also has a number of branded home decor lines.

Prior to joining Christina on her shows, Josh was a police officer and then a real estate agent based in Austin, Texas. The exes also created a TV production company together in 2022, Unbroken Productions.

Her latest post isn't the first time the HGTV star has clapped back at one of Josh’s dispatches.

The formerly Austin-based realtor first broke his social media silence last week with an Instagram photo of himself walking in the woods. His caption was simply the praying hands emoji.

Christina seemingly trolled him hours later, posting a photo of herself in a strapless black top giving a smirky smile and captioning it with the same emoji.

On July 26, a TMZ story quoted sources close to Josh claiming that Christina stopped talking to him at the end of their marriage.

The insiders added that Josh was “sad" about how things turned out and he wished “the best” for Christina and her three kids. They also said he had been spending more time in Nashville, and going to church and the gym.
