"My son wants to be like Marshmello," Teigen told PEOPLE, referring to the DJ who wears a marshmallow-shaped helmet
Chrissy Teigen is getting her family ready for Halloween!
On Saturday, Oct. 5, the model and author, 38, spoke exclusively with PEOPLE at ChainFEST LA about getting her and husband John Legend's four kids — Luna, 8, Miles Theodore, 6, Esti Maxine, 20 months, and Wren Alexander, 15 months — prepared for spooky season.
"We love Halloween," she tells us. "But now it's about kids' Halloween. I actually prefer kid ones because they're so fun and they're so cute and they're during the day and I can still go to bed early and stuff."
The Cravings cookbook author and her family have whipped out a few elaborate group costumes over the years, with them opting for a Maleficent and Sleeping Beauty look in 2019 and the Addams Family in 2021.

As for this year, Teigen is not sure that they will be doing a group costume since her eldest son Miles has developed a taste of his own.
"Well, my kids don't know any of the families that I want to be, so I pitched them some ideas. They're like, ‘Who's that?‘ ” she explains. “My son wants to be like Marshmello. He's obsessed with the DJ Marshmello, so he's going to be that. And I'm like, ‘They're not into the family thing right now.’ ”
She continues, "But the babies, you can make them do whatever you want."
At ChainFEST, which is dubbed as "the world’s largest celebration of chain restaurants," Teigen also recalled her favorite chain restaurants to PEOPLE, saying, "Well, I grew up in Seattle and there was Coco's, Denny's — Claim Jumper was the very fancy one. If I was graduating or something or I got a good test where we'd go to Claim Jumper."
A few days earlier, on Oct. 2, the model shared family photos on Instagram, including one of Luna sitting on a stool in a studio while taking a photo of her mom with a professional camera on a tripod. Luna was wearing a bright-green dress and lavender sandals in the snap and appeared to be laser focused on what she was doing as her mom posed.
