Australian superstar Chris Hemsworth has given a candid interview about how his successful acting career has evoked stress and 'huge anxiety' in his life, after admitting he got into acting after learning of his parents' financial struggles.

With his series Limitless now airing on Channel 9 and 9Now, the 40-year-old star opened up about the moment he turned to acting saying his motivation came from wanting to help his parents out financially.

“If I’m totally honest, I did acting to get my parents out of debt,” Chris revealed. “Talking to my dad about when he’s going to be able to pay the bank off and him saying, ‘Never, we’ll die having to pay it off,’ … that kind of really [bothered] me from a very young age.”

He went on to say the conversation with his dad played a big part in his work ethic, saying that he still feels unresolved stress from that period of his life that impacts how he lives today.

“What gives me huge anxiety and evokes stress is when I’m trying to take care of too many things, too many projects. I still have these thoughts of like, it’s all going to go away if I don’t say yes to these things. I can still feel stress eating away at me, and I don’t want it to rule my life," he shared. "It could be killing me."
