Chris Hemsworth Recorded “Transformers One” at His Australian Home— with His Kids Frequently Interrupting (Exclusive)
The film's director Josh Cooley tells PEOPLE that Hemsworth's kids would often run into his dad's makeshift studio
When Chris Hemsworth recorded his role in his new animated film Transformers One, he got to do it from the comfort of his own home — and with a few new coworkers.
At the New York City premiere of the film, director Josh Cooley shared that there were a few stand-out moments working with his cast, which included Hemsworth recording at his Australian home.
"All of Chris' recordings were done at his house. So I would travel all the way to Sydney and record there, which was really fun," Cooley tells PEOPLE.
"He got a great place and his kids would come running into the room occasionally and he'd be like, 'Oh, hold on, let me get lunch for him,' or whatever it was. But it was great. It was so super chill and he's a phenomenal, a great guy."

Hemsworth is dad to twin sons Sasha and Tristan, 10, and daughter India Rose, 12, whom he shares with wife Elsa Pataky.
At the Australian premiere of Transformers One in Sydney, Australia, Hemsworth was joined by his sons and his wife as they walked the red carpet. The dad of three wore a gray suit with a gray T-shirt while his wife opted for a burgundy red jumpsuit.
The famous couple's two sons posed in front of their parents for a sweet family photo. One of their twins wore a blue button-down shirt and black pants, bearing a striking resemblance to Pataky, while the other opted for a white shirt and blue jeans, looking just like his dad.
At this year's San Diego Comic Con, the proud dad said when he was offered the role of Orion Pax a.k.a. Optimus Prime in the film, he told PEOPLE he consulted three trusted advisors: his kids. "I had gone to my kids and said, 'What do you think?' And they said, 'You have to do it.' "
As fans of the franchise, "consultants" India Rose, Sasha and Tristan "played a big part," Hemsworth said, in his decision to join the prequel — and then in the voiceover booth itself. "They were in the background as I was recording a lot of these lines. They were kind of yelling suggestions or trying to distract me. It was cool."
