Chemist Warehouse shoppers rave about $15 dupe of $43 cult favourite: 'Got the full set'

Chemist Warehouse has sent shoppers wild after releasing a dupe of Aesop’s popular skincare range. While the Australian luxury cosmetics brand is known for its high-quality skincare, haircare and fragrance products, it’s also one of the higher-priced brands on the market.

The retail store recently began stocking a cheaper alternative that shoppers are saying is just as good as Aesop - if not better. Ovidio is a new and exclusive body care range that is made in Australia and located in the body wash section of Chemist Warehouse.

The product line includes a hand cream for $14.99, hand and body wash for $19.99, and body lotion for $24.99. This is compared to Aesop which stocks a range of hand balms from $43, hand wash from $51, and body lotion from $53.

Ovidio’s products are available in three scents: vetiver, patchouli and hemp seed, clementine, sweet orange and pink grapefruit, and rosewood, palmarosa and rose geranium.

Shoppers divided over dupe

Chemist Warehouse recently posted a video on social media showcasing the product which has racked up over 100,000 views and received plenty of comments from excited shoppers.

“I just ran and got the full set, they smell amazing,” one person wrote on TikTok, while another added, “Just purchased!”.

“The packaging is more aesthetically my vibe,” a third remarked, followed by a different user who said, “My fave too - Vetiver, Patchouli and Hemp Seed. Smells divine”.

Some people weren’t too pleased with the comparison to Aesop, however, with one shopper commenting: “No way is this a dupe for Aesop! Just checked them at Chemist Warehouse, nice that they are Australian made but no comparison, in my opinion that is!”

Another Aesop dupe sends shoppers wind

Meanwhile, other shoppers have shared on TikTok that UK brand Baylis & Harding is “the best Aesop dupe” for a much cheaper price.

Woolworths currently stocks a set of five 500ml Baylis & Hardish hand washes for $49, including jasmine and apple blossom, jojoba, vanilla and almond, English lavender and chamomile, pink magnolia and pear blossom, and wild rhubarb and pink pepper.

Kmart also currently stocks Baylis & Harding’s ‘Festive Edition’ hand washes for just $6 which are available in frosted cranberry and frosted mistletoe.
