Chappell Roan Debuts New Country Song ‘The Giver’ On ‘Saturday Night Live’

Chappell Roan seems to have introduced some new music on Saturday Night Live.

The rising pop star surprised audiences when she began singing an unknown country song during her second set, after she made her musical guest debut with her hit “Pink Pony Club.”

“When you need the job done, call me, baby,” she sang, set to a farm-like backdrop. “Cause you ain’t gotta tell me. It’s just in my nature. Take it like a taker, cause baby I’m a giver.”

So far, the song isn’t available online, but the name of the track is called “The Giver.” Watch it above.

SNL‘s page posted a gif of the singer twirling and lassoing around in a two-piece gingham getup with the song’s title. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess singer-songwriter recently teased that a new album was in the works to follow up her smash debut from September 2023.

“All you country boys saying you know how to treat a woman right / Well only a woman knows how to treat a woman right,” Roan spoke during the song’s bridge.

Roan appeared on SNL Season 50 during the NBC sketch comedy’s last episode ahead of Election Day Nov. 5, opposite six-time host and comedian John Mulaney. The star-studded installment featured a last-minute guest appearance by vice president and candidate Kamala Harris, as well as Hilary Clinton’s former running mate Tim Kaine and SNL alum Pete Davidson. In celebrating the feat of her first-time appearance earlier this week, the VMA winner posted a throwback, in which she had once written on Facebook in 2011: “I am determined to be on SNL.’
