Chad Michael Murray Says He'd Be '100 Percent' Supportive If His 3 Kids Wanted to Become Actors
"I wish that I had a kindred spirit over my shoulder to guide me and help me when I first came in," Murray said
Chad Michael Murray is open to having his kids join him in the industry.
The Merry Gentleman star, 43, spoke with Interview Magazine and was asked whether he wants his three kids — a 9-year-old son, a 6-year-old daughter, and a daughter he welcomed in August 2023, whom he shares with his wife, actress Sarah Roemer — to follow in his footsteps and become actors.
"I’m 99.99999%, my daughter will be following suit, quite soon. And then I would say, my son, that’s not something he wants to do," Murray shared.

"And the new one, she’s only 15 months. We’ll let her figure it out," he said, laughing. "But would I be supportive? One hundred percent."
The proud dad added that he would've loved to have that kind of support when he was first starting out in Hollywood.
"I wish that I had a kindred spirit over my shoulder to guide me and help me when I first came in," Murray explained. "It’s not that I want to be a no person for my daughter, but I want to be able to at least pave the road and say, 'Hey, here’s the consequences to action A, B, C, and D. This is how you conduct yourself on a set. I want you to be over-prepared so that no matter what comes your way, you’re ready for it.'"
While recently speaking with Variety in November, the actor opened up about his life as a dad to his three kids. The One Tree Hill alum shared that he calls his family of five "The Pack," a fitting title as he explained that the crew travels together to every gig Murray books.
“I want to be there," the dad of three explained. "I got to be there for my daughter’s first steps. I got to take her trick or treating for the first time."
“And she crushed it!” he added.
The proud dad moved his pack to Halifax, Nova Scotia for the filming of Sullivan's Crossing, where he was able to “completely submerge” himself into the city and its community. Murray noted that he also coaches his son's football team, which, at the time, was heading to the playoffs.
